Council Information

The UVEPC was founded on November 3, 1993 to provide educational support for estate planning professionals.  Our membership is comprised of attorneys, accountants and professionals from the banking, financial services, and nonprofit community.

The Council meets on the first Wednesday of the month from September through May.  Membership in the Council (and attendance at Council events) is governed by standards adopted from the National Association of Estate Planning Councils, which are as follows:

To be eligible for membership, an individual must be actively engaged in the practice of estate planning or matters directly related to estate planning and be a member in good standing of one of the following professions: trust officers; fundraising officers employed by charitable organizations; Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) or Chartered Financial Consultants (ChFC); attorneys; Certified Public Accountants (CPA); financial planner (holding current insurance or securities licenses); or Certified Financial Planners (CFP).
