Kristy Hanson will discuss divorce and family law issues as they impact our estate planning clients. 

Biography

Kristy graduated from Brigham Young University with Bachelor of Arts in political science. She attended law school in Washington, D.C. at the American University, Washington College of Law and graduated cum laude in 2002. While in law school, she earned various moot court awards, including a semi-finalist award at the Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition. Kristy also served as a law clerk to Senator Orrin Hatch on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and worked for a general civil litigation firm in Fairfax, Virginia.

Her practice focuses on all facets of family law, including divorce, custody, post-decree modifications, adoptions, mediation, child support, paternity, and termination of parental rights. Kristy has experience in the district court and juvenile court systems. She also serves as a mediator and a Private Guardian Ad Litem. She also teaches Public Speaking at BYU and teaches various Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes.

Kristy and her husband are the parents of three children. She enjoys running, water skiing, surfing, snow skiing and attending BYU sporting events with her family.
